"He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that th his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. (John 12:25)
The pain involved when you are 'losing all to gain Christ,' is a very real pain - a very deep suffering. Who can know it? Who can describe it? Can even those who are experiencing the process? Who are giving their all that they might gain Christ? Counting all things loss that they might obtain the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus?
Many friends will advise. Many will try to comfort, even as Job's friends tried to discern this problem of Job's. The counselors came, they reasoned, they calculated, they tried to tell him what he should do. Have you come to this is your Christian walk? When you don't know what to do? When you have searched your heart? When you've cried and cried to the Lord to turn on the spotlight of the Holy Spirit, to search your heart to see if there be any wicked way or thought in you? (Psalm 139:23-24).
It seems as though the answers are eluding you. What shall you do? Where shall you turn? Your counseling friends are miserable comforters. (Job 16:2). Their help is in vain. Even your father and mother forsake you. (Psalms 27:10 says the Lord will take you up). My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (Psalms 22:1) But has He really forsaken you? No, for He promises He will not. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me. (Psalms 23:4).
My friend, even in the darkest valleys and in the violent storms that are causing the pain and the suffering in your present conditions, Jesus promises to be with you; to walk by your side; to bring you out of the darkness into His marvelous light. The pain will turn into joy. Sorrow into dancing. Your God will not be late though it may seem to you He is. He will not delay, for He will come to you and He will become your true Comforter. He will become your true Deliverer and Redeemer. No other can compare with Him. He is waiting for you to seek none other besides Him. To choose no other way for your life but His way. And you can be sure that He promised to make all things beautiful in His time. (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
Won't you give it all over to Him today? "Cast all your cares upon Him." (1Peter 5:7). He desires for you to come to Him, admit you are helpless in your darkness, in your sin, to commit it all to Him and trust Him in His wisdom and grace.
He knows where you are at, He hears your every cry. There is nothing that has happened to you that did not first pass through His loving hands. Believe Him to bring you through. Trust Him to restore new life unto you and be assured in your heart that His Word will not return void but shall accomplish all that it was send to do. (Isaiah 55:11). He who began a good work in you will continue to until the day of Jesus Christ. (Phillipians 1:6).
God be with you,
God is with you,
And He will always be
With you - In Christ!
Phillipians 3:7,8 "But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ."
Jesus, my love, never leave my side,
Jesus, my Savior, cause me to abide
In Thy will, knowing it is You that I trust,
believing You, I must.
For You have spoken words to me
You said, "I will never leave thee and
I never will forsake,
I will cause you to come through
whatever it will take."
Bring me through the trials,
So that I will know
What You spoke to me in these words,
Shall bring victory in life as I go.
