Happy Thanksgiving!

Autumn Splendor

Autumn splendor,
My heart is thine,
Bring me unto,
Thy heavenly divine.
Without a care
Just as the leaf
Floating down
Sweet release.

Letting go
Of branch above
Abandoned to
Thy endless love.
Color me bright
Red, yellow and orange
Take me to
Thy holy throne.

The Giving of Thanks...

Luke 17:15 "Then one of them, upon seeing that he was cured, turned back, recognizing and thanking and praising God with a loud voice; And he fell prostrate at Jesus' feet, thanking Him (over and over). And he was a Samaritan."

Lord, how many times did I not turn back with true thanksgiving and praise and fall prostrate before you and giving thanks over and over again for Your touch that made such a difference? How many times did I take for granted the meeting of my needs and overwhelming me in Your goodness in supplying so many wants.

Did I take notice when You intervened and brought deliverance and even the clearing of my mind so that I could think. your thoughts and know Your special victory over thoughts that would have ensnared me? How many times did You change my heart and peace came because of a heart that truly can be enlarged in the things pertaining to My glorious God.

How many times did a small thing make such a big difference and I didn't even acknowlege You in it all? How many times a very large thing mad such a difference in a small matter and I experienced Your freedom?

How many times You sent a child to brighten me and I was too busy to receive words from one who walks in faith and simplicity (please forgive me)! How many times someone else's need could have been lifted if only I would have made that call or made that visit or sent that note or simply prayed in that moment You drew near with their need. (Please forgive me)!

How many times I leaned to my own reasoning and missed Your heavenly outpouring upon another, making my heart glad as well. How many times, I settled for confusion and wondering, when a song would have lifted the cloud--a song of praise and thanksgiving to You for being My God, for redeeming me at such a costly price, for making me brand new and instilling such value so that I could complete this race and hear your longed for, "Well done."

I choose this day to be found in thanksgiving and to offer an acceptable sacrifice of gratitude based on who You are in all of Your holiness and in all of Your majesty, in all of Your glorious attributes. You are my Lord and I'm thankful.

"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory (making us conquerors) through our Lord Jesus."
